On August the 15th we joined the annual swimming competition "La Milla" en La Vila. The competition is arranged by the Lloret family (relatives to relatives of Paco) and is not a mile long that the name claims, it is more like 300 meters. It is so much fun. Wow, yesterday we made an incredible bike tour. 46 km from Caudiel to Torres Torres (northwest of Valencia) along one of the "Vías Verdes" of Spain. Today we have made some longed-for improvements. We have put up two new shelfs in the walk-in-closet and four wall shelfs "stripa" from IKEA. Now I'm officially a member of Friskis & Svettis. Last week they let people train for free. I tried their dance class and a "jympa" class. "Jympa" is nothing for me but I liked the dance class. I went back yesterday and signed up and worked out with different dance styles. Oh I forgot, I tried Ki Balance too. It's a kind of Body Balance class with slow moves. I loved it. Peace in my soul.

Last Sunday we went to IKEA to look at furniture for our new apartment. We want to buy a sofa-bed to the living room since we want family and friends to visit us. After a lot of looking, sitting, laying and reading we fell for "Månstad": The bed will be the matress base "Storfors"+ a matress pad "Sultan Timan" and of course with wooden legs. " Svinalängorna" by Susanna Aloski. A story about Leena and her Finnish family in Sweden in the 60's. In the beginning I laughed quite a lot but after the half book it turned into a very black story. Unfortunately many children are suffering the same destiny as Leena. Her parents are alcholics and Leena and her brothers live under extreme circumstances. A strong book that I can highly recommend.

Today we've been to Aftonstjärnan movie theater. It is over 100 years old. It is a lovely atmosphere and there is also a cafeteria to buy cheap coffee and cake. We saw a pretty bad Swedish movie called "Allt om min buske" ("All about my bush"). It is a comedy about gardening and sexual frustration (hmm weird mix). I just finished "Frukost på Tiffany's" by Truman Capote. I bought this book last Summer (with a gift certificate that a friend gave me) as a part of the proyect of reading Classics. I have a list of Classic books that I'm going to read during my life. Right now I don't know where I have put the list but when I see a book in the book store I know if it's a "must read" or not. The best documentary I've ever seen. Widh and I went to the opening of the Exile Film Festival and it was absolutely the best three hours of this week. This afternoon we've had our monthly work meeting. Every month we meet, eat and often we go to somewhere special. To a restaurant, the movie theater, excursion, etc... I finally made it to the Book Fair. It was interesting but way too much people. I found these three books, I got them so cheap. "Zorro" by Allende only 35 SEK, "Paradiset finns om hörnet" by Vargas Llosa for 29 SEK. At Adlibris they gave away "Fantomerna" by Östergren for free.
