Spanish visitors

We have Spanish visitors this week. Pepe & Vicen (Paco's cousin with wife) came on Friday afternoon. It has been a wonderful weekend and we have enjoyed our friends' company. On Saturday we made a obligatory visit to Systembolaget and thereafter a quick detour to the Church of Masthugget to take a look at the view. This church is situated at a very high point and you get a beautiful view of the city. Later on we headed down the the center. Vicen & I did some shopping and at 14.00 we met up with Marie Löök and her boyfriend Jonas. Marie is a friend from my village and lives now in Stockholm with Jonas. We had a delicious lunch at Källarkrogen and after that we walked down to the harbor and the Opera house. At 19.00 arrived our guests for the night, Ali, Lillemor and Sigge. We had prepared cheese pie for main course and banana cake for dessert.

Yesterday we were pretty tired and we slept in. We took two long walks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We saw the moose's and penguins in Slottskogen, we met a very talkative lady in Slottskolonin and then we ended the day by buying pizza at Contezza.

Today Pepe & Vicen are on their own "doing Gothenburg". I hope they have taken a tour with Paddan, it is beautiful weather today so they should have. You never know what weather we get tomorrow.

This afternoon we will go to IKEA and spend some money.

Spanish Delicatessen

Take a look at this photos! We received two boxes filled with delicatessen from Paco's parents. Jamón Serrano, chorizo, lomo, queso, vino, pipas, anchoas, pudding de cabracho (???), cangrejos, and lots of other stuff (but not the tomatoes and apples you see at the photos;-).

MOLTES GRÀCIES PACO Y PAZ!!!

Schizo weather

I woke up at 6.00 this morning and it was pouring rain. I decided to take "Ivar" (the car) to work instead of my blue darling. And now, the sun is shining but it's starting to get really windy. Lucky me I was so fed up with heat and sunny weather, I'm still not suffering the rain. It feels refreshing. Ask me again in October and we'll see what I answer.

"Ivar" won the battle this morning over my "Blue Darling"

The week problem

Pär, a friend of mine, recommended me this site http://vecka.nu, a very useful site for us who have problems with the week numbers. Of course this site is now listed in my favorites.

Rock on!!!

Parking sign - the correct answer

The correct answer is that I can park here FOR FREE after 18.00 hours on weekdays and after 15.00 on Saturdays until 9.00 Monday morning. The lucky ones with "boendekort" can park here whenever they want.

Since nobody guessed the right answer the first prize goes to myself ;-)

Sin sin sin

I commited a sin this weekend, a double sin. But what a delicious sin. I had a cheese & bacon burger at Joe Farellis, with a huge glass of choooooooocolate milkshake. I think it was 11 years since I had something like that. Do I have to point out that the last one I had was "over there". How many burgers and burritos did I eat during one year in the States? Probably as many as I have eaten during the rest of my life. Well, for you who have the possibility to visit Gothenburg I can highly recommend the chocolate milkshake. It tastes just like it does "over there". Mmmmmm

Los aires difíciles

I have now read 390 of almost 800 pages. It is a story about Juan Olmedo and Sara Gómez, both from Madrid. They move (separately) to the south of Spain, to an urbanization outside Jerez. Their lives are told, both past and present.

The book has its good moments but right now I'm in a really boring chapter. Buuff!!! I want to finish it so I can read the other great books I told you about in June.

Week 29

The Swedes are a bit odd. They keep on thinking in week numbers instead of dates. It makes me crazy. They really don't know exactly what dates are included in these week numbers. I ask a friend (or anybody) when they are going on vacation and they answer me: week 31-33. And then I reply with another question: and when is that? They don't know. I know that my vacations start the 11th of August when I walk out of the doors from my work and that I have to be back on Monday the 27th of August.

Then we have these parking signs. Forbidden to park Thursdays between 9-12 odd weeks! I end up parking somewhere else since I don't know what week it is. Since I live here no there is no choice but to learn how to think in week numbers. I found out that my Outlook can show week numbers (it is very useful for me). Maybe they think it's practical.

Sunday dinner

Monika (my sister) had been on a festival in Arvika and stopped by for a Sunday dinner. She brought her friends with her. They had camped in this fine piece of caravan:

After the dinner Paco and I took a walk around the neighborhood

Barbecue..

...at Sigge's place. It had rained all week but a few hours before the barbecue last Friday it stopped and the sun shone on us. It was so such a nice evening, I had so much fun. I'm enjoying the fact that my two good friends Lillemor & Sigge have found each other. The party went on too long and Paco and I caught the bus at 5.40 in the morning. Many drinks too late. The Saturday was awful until 18.00 more or less. We had dinner plans with Lisa & Dani and I didn't think we were going to make it, but we did!!! And we had lots of fun (and good food)!!! I'm quite proud though over my ability to party. I thought I had lost it years ago. I thought I was getting old, but I'm NOT!!!!

Weekend update (on a Wednesday morning)

Martina and Tomas arrived on Thursday night. Picked them up at Landvetter. On Friday they had a meeting and I went to work. On the afternoon we had dinner at Skafferiet near Saluhallen. Martina and Tomas had shopped a lot and they were loaded with shopping bags.

Later on that same evening I went to Landvetter (again) and picked up Paco. Welcome home Pakko-Raffa!!! On Saturday morning we slept in and hardly made it to Systembolaget before closing time. After that we had to go back in to town to pick up a package that Tomas forgot in a dressing room the day before. We had lunch/dinner at The Golden Days. It was so nice to see my sister sooo relaxed. They really needed to change environment.

On Saturday evening we prepared seafood and had a lovely dinner. On Sunday afternoon we took Martin and Tomas to Landvetter airport and after that we went home to spend the rest of the day in the couch.

Nice weekend...

I had a really nice weekend. On Friday night I watched Peter's Friends, a really good movie that I recommend.

On Saturday I had laundry and after that I went down to the center. Met Lisa & Dani for lunch and later for coffee at an Italian coffee place. I bought 3 CDs on sale. Edith Piaf, Jaques Brel, Merit Hemmingsson (because she's from Jämtland) and Trazan & Banarne (for my niece).

At 18 came Åsa and Lillemor over and we had a nice dinner.

Slept until 11 on Sunday (oh my gosh!) and I relaxed all morning (what was left of it). Suddenly I felt for ironing (????) and started to iron everything I could find. What is the matter with me? Went down to the gym for a yoga class at 15 but I had forgot that they had changed the schedule for summer. The yoga class started at 17!!!!!!! Went grocery shopping and did some french manicure. Didn't really turn out good. At 17 I went back to the gym but I could have stayed at home as well, because the instructor was new and a disaster. I hope they kick her at once. I did an evaluation afterwards and I was not nice ;-)

Sunday night, a walk in Slottskogen with Åsa. We are SO lucky to live that close to this wonderful park.

Read quite a lot in my new book "Los aires difíciles". Fell asleep around 23.30.
