Book Circle - First Book

Our first Book Circle meeting took place at SkåneSara's last Thursday (22/11) and we were 6 who showed up. First we had fish soup and got to know eachother. We are a good mix of women. Friends of friends. After more than 1,5 hour we started to discuss the book "Tätt Intill Dagarna" by Mustafa Can. It was a very good discussion and analysis. Personally I'm not so found of the book although I admire his capacity of expressing himself in words.

We had also picked a second book by Mitch Albom "Fem Person Du Möter i Himlen" (The five persons you meet in heaven). We were supposed to read this book if we had time. I liked this one better than the first one. It is a beautiful story about death, loneliness, and love.

Our next book is "Veronika bestämmer sig för att dö" (Veronika decides to die) by Paulo Coelho. I have read two of his books already ("The Alchemist" and "12 minutes") and I guess this book is written in the same style.

Summary of the weekend

I had a really great time with Lillemor and Åsa on Saturday. We spent 3 hours at Språkkafeet (a language coffee shop) and around 15.30 they started to dance tango. It is such a lovely atmosphere at this coffee shop. It is situated at Esperantoplatsen near Järntorget (Göteborg).

Sunday morning turned out quite stressy. We had plans on cleaning and preparing a meat pie for our late lunch / early dinner with our friends. We made it but the floors didn't get that clean and the pie turned out very ugly (but yummy).

We went to Anna and Emilio's where we had a delicious meal and planned our trip to Warsaw. They served a funny drink made of Bison Grass Vodka and Apple and Lemon juice. We're definetly going to buy some of that.

Want to get away

Continuing from the last message:

I get a bit home sick this time of the year when the snow starts to fall. Here's some web cams from Östersund:

Time thief?

Where did my time go? What happened? It's been 2 weeks since the last blogging. Shame on me. I just got fed up with everything. I've been so tired the last month that I decided to take a break from extra activities, excercise and socializing on weekdays (and blogging). When the weekend arrives I'm so sick of the computer and I choose other creative activities such as baking, cleaning and soffing. The last one is very creative... :-) We have also have had a lot of social engagements which have been very nice.

I didn't remember the effect that the nordic darkness has on me. It is scary how tired one can get of not getting enough sun light. Now it would be really nice to go back to Spain or up north where they at least have snow. Gothenburg really sucks during winter. It's dark, slushy and so ugly. Hopefully I will get used to this and get my energy from other sources. Any ideas?

Just for your information: in Karesuando (in the very north of Sweden) there is a temperature of -20 C right now (-4F). Last night the record of the season was marked: -27C (-17F).
