"Collective Party" at Ekudden - a summary

We got to Ekudden (Älmhult, Småland) at 15.30 on Saturday. We took a tour through the house and they (the hosts) have decorated the place amazingly. What a change from March when I first saw the house. The barbecue started almost immediately and after a while people started to join the party. I was surprised, all neighbors showed up and it was great to see different generations at the same party. They had invited a DJ who played music all night long. The atmosphere was incredible. Thank you Monika for inviting me to this megaparty!

"Collective Party" at Ekudden

I have to say I'm a little scared of how this weekend will end. Monika has invited me to a huge party with her friends in Älmhult. Tomorrow (Saturday) I will take our dear "Ivar" on a 3.5 hour trip down to Småland. We (don't know how many people "we" includes) will spend the night there and go back to Gothenburg on Sunday. I will get back after the weekend with a review and loads of photos.

Paco went back to Valencia last Tuesday. Countdown has started: only 12 days until I go to Valencia.

Stupid phone!

I have never had an Ericsson phone before and this will be the first and last one I have. Has anyone else had problems with Ericsson K800i? Or is it just my phone?

First time some characters and ALL numbers disappeared from the monitor. I send it to repair and I got it back not even a month ago. On Saturday I had to turn it off and after that it was impossible to turn it on again. The monitor shifted between black and white.

So if I don't answer or return your calls it will probably be because of this stupid phone.

Work out at Andas...

I am now an official member of the Nordic Club Andas (www.andas.net). I had a "try"pass last week and made it to the gym 3 times. I had never tried Pilates before and that was a very good way of excercise for me. I really liked it. Have to try it again. It's a pity they only have one class per week. Today I have signed up for Yoga.

Daytrip to Hisingen!!!

Last Sunday we packed our backpacks and went off to explore Hisingen. We were supposed to take the boat "Älvsnabben" from Rosenlund but we missed it by 10 minutes. We strolled along the harbour all the way down to Lilla Bommen, near the city centre. A 45 min walk from our house. It was beautiful weather and we were not in a rush. From Lilla Bommen we finally took "Älvsnabben" over to Lindholmen (Hisingen). Since the objective of every trip is to eat your sandwich we walked over to Skeppsbron where we found a nice hill. It didn't take long before we discovered millions of ants (or more correctly: the ants found us). We had our sandwich and a cup of coffee with the big fat ants and after one hour of relax we went down to Skeppsbron to catch the next boat back to mainland. "Älvsnabben" took us to Klippan where we jumped on the tram that passed by. Back at home before 17.00.

We walked a lot this day and I was really tired when we got back. What is it with Spring and the light? Why am I so tired? I should be full of energy now.

Efter Brylluppet

I just saw After the Wedding (Efter Brylluppet). It was a long time ago I cried so much. It really touched me. Rolf Lassgård and Mads Mikkelsen are just amazing actors. How come Danish movie is so good??? I'll give it an 8 of 10. Read more at IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457655/

Valencia next

The Serrano Towers - Valencia

On the 6th of June I will be back in Valencia for a couple of days. I stay until the 10th and hope to enjoy both friends and family.

Valencia is the capital of the Spanish autonomous community of Valencia and its province. It is the third largest city in Spain and an industrial area on the Costa del Azahar. The estimated population of Valencia was 807.396 as of 2006. This summer we celebrate the final of the 32nd Americas Cup in Valencia.

Uppsala-Stockholm 20070508-11

05.00 Tuesday morning rise and shine. We took a flight to Stockholm at 7.00 am. From Arlanda airport to Uppsala by train. Maria and Johannes picked us up at the station since we didn't know where the Guide Redina office was. Redina is a part of the Guide Group and its specialty is Usability.

9.30-16.00 Usability by Inger and Torsten.

The session was very interesting by too short. I will definitely sign up for a two day session of User Centered System Design (Användarcentrerad Systemdesign ACSD) at Astrakan (www.astrakan.se, Guide's partner of competence training).

After the course Martin Nordkvist and Johannes Bäckström took us on a sightseeing tour around Uppsala. Very beautiful and cosy.

Weekend update

This weekend has been great. We have had friends over for dinner and "afternoon tea". We have also had time to rearrange the furniture. We rent the apartment with furniture but they are really ugly. My theory goes: "With a piece of material you can make a wonder". I'll see if I can take some pictures of the apartment tonight and publish them here.

Tomorrow I'll go to Stockholm for a course in Usability and Workshop Management. I really don't want to leave Gothenburg now when Paco is here but the course seems to be really interesting.

... starting a blog. I have recieved greetings from friends I haven't heard in years. I hope you will keep on visiting my blog. I will try to keep it as updated as possible.

Paco arrived last night. We'll see what we're up to this weekend. We want to invite some friends for dinner. If the weather permits we will also try to barbecue.
